UNFORGETTABLE VISIT AT MAGNIFICENT DUBAI FRAME

4 mn read

In Dubai they open a new attraction for visitors almost every year. This Dubai Frame is one of the latest additions, which opened exactly 1st January, 2018 and I’m going to go inside to see if it’s worth it. Standing 150 meters above the ground, the Dubai Frame is not just a vantage point but an experience. Just in entrance I saw the place, where they explain the construction, specially the materials, they material used on the exterior. There are a lot of websites on the internet that say it’s covered in gold, but that’s not true. It’s not gold, in fact, its stainless steel, and it’s also coated with titanium nitrate. Without your Dubai Frame Tour your Dubai visit would be incomplete.

The Dubai frame was built as a kind of tribute to the past, present, and future of Dubai. Now I am entering the first exhibit on the first floor, and it’s dedicated to Dubai’s past, to what this emirate was 70 years ago during the 50’s and it also represents Dubai’s past culture, which is considered as root cause of Dubai’s modern-day development. When you guys come, don’t forget to take deep breaths, because the beautiful experience of aromas in Middle East is quite general and super important at the same time. Perfumes, spices—it’s something that really has an impact. Here, you come in and they replicate it in a very accurate way. In the end of the exhibit they have a touch screen user interface. This is pure sensation. It reads your hand and with the one swipe gesture from my hand I can switch to whichever year of the Dubai I want and view its live environment. In the elevator it took me just 55 seconds to climb 48 floors! That’s less than a minute. Now I’ve made it to the top. This represents Dubai’s present. I am at the highest part, and on one side I can see “New Dubai,” with all the towers, the Burj Khalifa, the modern

ity, and on the other side, “Old Dubai,” which is the old district where Zoco, the gold market, and the historic quarter are. You can walk here, and there’s one part that, if you’re afraid of heights then it will scare you a lot. We have this beautiful walkway, which looks like a normal floor… but when we walk on it, the glass becomes transparent, and we’re just above it, it felt horrible! The thing is when one is walking and looking up, it doesn’t cause vertigo, but the second the glass clears, you get an awful feeling because you’re 150 meters high.

I asked and the glass is a little more than 4 centimeters thick, which is not much, but each panel can hold 2 tones. I weigh less than one, so there’s nothing to worry about. This screen is incredible because as it moves, the view also moves. Then, you can read information about the places you’re looking at perfectly. You can also look at a night view, or you can take a photo, or you can watch a time-lapse. I mean, there’s a lot of glare on my camera, but it’s really cool. The views are really pretty good because you can see both sides of Dubai. It’s not my favorite vantage point in the city because the Burj Khalifa is really scenic, although also much more expensive than this, but it is cool.

The best time to visit is probably sunset, since you can see the city both during the day and at night. What is special about this viewpoint is that you can see the Sheikhs’ residencies there. We’re going to say goodbye to the present, and let’s go to the future. The visit ends with a spectacular video of computer-generated images of Dubai’s future design: flying cars, delivery drones, and fully robotized smart homes built with 3D printers. They also talk about the use of technology in the medical industry, as well as space projects and human colonies on other planets.

And here readers, we end the visit after peeking into the future of Dubai, which I must say has impressed me the most, out of the whole presentation because one only sees it in movies like science fiction, but in reality, it’s completely possible, and it’s spectacular. It’s also worth taking a look at the exhibit that explains the frame’s construction because really, it’s an incredible work of engineering. For example, they built the bridge separately and raised it in only 2 days. I really did like it. If you’re in Dubai for several days, I think it’s worth dedicating visiting. It won’t take more than an hour, and it’s really cool. I really did like it. It’s impressive to see how they do everything. It’s spectacular and I definitely liked it very much .
