Another high-speed favorite is the Burj Surj, a tube ride for two to five people that spins you through a series of giant bowls and twisted slides. Fit Alley sees you mixing through three tornadoes before landing with a splash in the pool. Put your surfing skills to the test on the Wipe out Flow Rider attraction, or swim in the Middle East’s largest wave pool at Breaker’s Bay.

If relaxation is your refresher, the gentle Wave Pool is a great way to rock away the day. Or, you can hire a private cabana for some quiet downtime at the Lazy River.

Wild Wadi also offers more conventional thrillseeking with a range of waterslides and a series of ‘masterblasters’ –high-powered water jets that drive your rubber ring upwards along a rollercoaster-type ride. For activities a little more on the calm side, there’s a 360-metre lazy river and the largest wave pool in the Middle East, which is also an excellent vantage point for watching helicopters landing on the famous Burj Al Arab’s helipad.
